How it works

  1. 1

Up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP files, 25 MB each. Pick a tool: remove the background or upscale.

  2. 2

    Choose the look

Transparent, white, a brand colour, a blurred version of the photo or your own backdrop. Or 2× / 4× for the upscaler.

  3. 3

    Compare and download

Drag the before/after slider on each result, then save one file or the whole batch as a ZIP.

Features

Three cut-out models

U²-Net for speed, BiRefNet for hair and fine edges, and a people model for portraits, all via rembg.

New backgrounds

Transparent, white, any colour, a soft blur of the original, or a backdrop image you upload. Crop to the subject with padding.

AI upscaling

Real-ESRGAN on the Mac's GPU (Vulkan via Metal) for 2× and 4×, with a model for photos and one for illustrations.

Before / after

Every result has a slider so you can check the edges or the added detail before you download.

Batch + ZIP

Process up to 20 images in one go and download them one by one or as a single ZIP.

Stays in-house

Everything runs on our own Mac with open-source models. No cloud APIs, no tracking, files gone after an hour.

FAQ

Which model should I pick for background removal?

Start with Fast: it handles most product shots on plain or busy backgrounds in a second or two. If hair, fur or see-through edges look rough, run it again with Best edges. For headshots and people, try People.

Why can't I save a transparent JPG?

JPG has no transparency. Pick PNG or WebP for a transparent cut-out, or choose a background (white, a colour, blur or an image) and JPG works fine.

How big can an upscaled image be?

The upscaler is for small images and thumbnails. The result can be up to 64 megapixels, so the input can be about 4 MP for 4× or 16 MP for 2×. Bigger images are refused with a clear message.

Will upscaling invent detail?

A little. Real-ESRGAN sharpens edges and textures convincingly, but small text and faces can come out slightly different. Use the before/after slider and don't use upscaled images as evidence of fine detail.

What happens to my images?

They're processed on our own Mac and the originals are deleted as soon as the job finishes. Results are deleted an hour later. Nothing is sent to any outside service.
